Ivan Lesay was born in 1980 in Trnava. He studied and later taught political science and economics at the universities of Trnava, Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna. He works in the field of European investments and green energy. He is the author of several professional publications. Together with Joachim Becker, they wrote a popularizing book about the financial and economic crisis , Life on credit (Everything you wanted to know about the crisis) .

He writes lyrics for the band Fishartcollection , two-time finalists of the Radio Head Awards in the Hard & Heavy category. He made his literary debut with the children's story book A-KO-ŽE (Trio Publishing). Frenka's second book for children. A warm-blooded lizard and its unusual family was published by HANT in Czech at the end of 2023.
He is the author of several short stories and radio formats. His debut novel Topografia bolesti (IKAR) was published in 2020 and won 3rd place in the Book of the Year 2020 competition of the Knižná revue magazine.
The English translation of the novel under the title The Topography of Pain will be published on November 1, 2024 by the Canadian publishing house Guernica Editions.
